Sara Buk

Sara was born in East Africa in the early 70s and moved to the U.K when she was 9, eventually settling in West Yorkshire. She discovered the joy of making jewellery in her late twenties, at evening classes at Bradford College, eventually leading to a Foundation Degree in Art and Design Enterprise, specialising in jewellery making.
This Sewn-Up range was created when she brought home a basketful of embroidery threads from a charity shop, so many beautiful colours, and many of them vintage. She wanted to incorporate them into her jewellery, to add colour and texture. Further inspired by her collection of pebbles gathered from many beaches over many years, Sara particularly loved the ones with a white line of quartz running through them - it was a perfect marriage of materials and ideas, which became the 'Sewn-Up' range, pebble shaped and textured pieces with coloured quartz stitches.
