Hannah Coates

Hannah has been making jewellery since leaving Wrexham College of Art & Design in 1991. Working from home in North Wales and being surrounded by collections of art created by friends and family, vintage treasures and junk shop finds is a source of great inspriation.
Hannah’s work is made mainly from a selection of colourful recycled mixed media. She utilises the semi rigid structure of plastic bottles to gain form and adds colours and patterns by using her specially developed collaging technique with a variety of discarded packaging, including foils, papers, and plastics. She then builds up layers by fabricating and sewing each piece together with fine wire and beads.
