Adel Kay

Adel's work encompasses hand printing botanical designs onto anodised aluminium and handcrafting it into attractive jewellery. She also hand forges and forms aluminium pieces into interesting textured designs. Anodised aluminium jewellery is created by a unique process containing several steps, with the first step being to hand print onto the porous aluminium, and afterwards it is over dyed.  This is followed by steam sealing. I Adel then starts to hand craft the final pieces by cutting and filing the aluminium into jewellery shapes, followed by burnishing the edges and forming the jewellery into convex or concave shapes.  All pieces are finished with sterling silver findings.
