All Catherine's making know-how is self-taught, taking inspiration from talented loved ones, birds and trees. All the items are designed and handmade by herself in Manchester. They are each unique.
The materials used are found, collected, saved, stashed and coveted in her over-flowing craft room. Some of them are so precious that she only uses them sparingly on the wing of a bird or a cherry on a cupcake. Catherine loves bold, vibrant material and occasionally feels the need to make in calm neutrals too. Catherine is fascinated by how different materials work when laid together, how fraying an edge can give a new dimension and how imprecise embroidery brings character to a creation.
It gives her goose bumps to think about a person buying or sending one of her items. Catherine's desire is that they will bring as much joy to their final recipient as they do to her in making them. People can write such lovely things in a greetings card, which can be lost in an e mail or not phrased quite right in a conversation. Say it in a card and make someone's day. Even if there is no occasion coming up, do it because you can and you like them!
